After 15 years away, I have returned to my hometown to be a part of the change I want to see in this city. Happyfrog Detroit is based on a project I first developed while living in Vancouver, BC. It is my hope that the site can contribute in some small way to the amazing transformation Detroit is undergoing.

 

I am the co-founder, with Laura Markham, of the Metro Times, which we sold after 20 years of operation in 1999. I am the founder of several other independent media companies including New York-based Dragonfly Media. I am past board chair of the San Francisco-based Independent Media Institute (AlterNet.org) and current board chair of Denver-based Free Speech TV (freespeech.org).
