Meet the 'solutionaries' that are re-imagining a new Detroit, hear what is really happening and maybe you will find a place for yourself.
There will be free food, entertainment, crafts and just pure fun!
Imagine a day where:
People in our communitues view each other as friends and neighbors; where collaboration takes root and blooms
People of all ages ignite their passion for service and leadeership
Youth and adults find common ground, bound and communicate
Adults and youth join hands to create the community of their dreams

While we have made some strides in our current DDOT Transportation problem, we need to put more Voice to our concerns. These cuts are affecting all of our lives. Transportation is a lifeline to our community and for every community in this city.
Come out for this "organizing session" and an essential toolkit, and get the word out to your congregations.

This walk for Peace will start at Grand Circus Park in Downtown Detroit ( across from Central Methodist Church), gathering for opening circle and ritual at 8:00am. The walk will proceed North to Ferndale with closing program and celebration at Ferndale's Geary Park from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Please wear colorful clothing and comfortable shoes; banners will be provided.

The Michigan Peace Team is hosting one of their signature events and are requesting the community to attend. Featured speakers are: Hedy Epstein, Noura Erakat and Ann Wright. The honorees include: Dr. Gloria House, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, Marygrove College Master's in Social Justice Program, and the Palestinian Freedom Riders.

In the 20th Century, Detroit was an important center of culture, a thriving industrial hub, and a home for many who sought the American Dream. Today, Detroit is a community of natural leaders that remains proud of its heritage and craves new opportunities to shape its future.
Many individual Detroiters are engaging their community in uplifting ways: they’re starting organizations, leading community projects, launching creative technologies, forming new social networks and telling different stories.
But we see even more Detroiters whose passion for community leadership has yet to be fully harnessed. Knight Foundation supports transformative projects that create easy opportunities for all Detroiters to - together - flourish and self-identify as leaders in their own communities.
