King Corn is a feature documentary about two friends, one acre of corn, and the subsidized crop that drives our fast-food nation. In the film, Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis, best friends from college on the east coast, move to the heartland to learn where their food comes from.

The 2012 season of the Howell Sunday Farmers’ Market gets under way Sunday, May 6 and runs every Sunday through October 28, featuring locally-grown produce, handmade goodies from 50 vendors and live entertainment.
The Howell Sunday Farmers' Market is celebrating its 19th year.
Visitors and residents enjoy the finest in locally-grown produce, bedding plants, flowers, homemade goods and crafts, all set against the backdrop of the Livingston County Courthouse and historic downtown Howell. Weekly entertainment and the energetic downtown ambience have helped create a “mini-festival” atmosphere at the market. Volunteering at the market can be used toward or for maintaining Master Gardener certification.

We specialize in certified organic gourmet lettuce greens, heirloom varieties of tomatoes and other vegetables. In addition, we also offer many varieties of basil and other organically grown herbs. Our produce is available once a month at the Howell Farmer's Market, Brighton Food Co-op. Weekly availability at the People's Food Co-op. Lubbers Family Farm is a family owned picturesque farm nestled along the Grand River in West Michigan. Sustainable agricultural practices have been the guiding principles since 1995. The farm is home to Cowslip Creamery and Little Rooster Bread Company. Lubbers meats include succulent beef and whey-special pork. Eggs are laid by heritage hens on pasture. The Farm Store, open seasonally, sells the meats, breads, crackers, eggs, chutneys and cheeses along with good foods raised by other local small farms. A number of fabulous farm-based events and educational workshops are offered seasonally as well.
