Event space inside a former fire house in Detroit's Eastern Market area. Art exhibitions, sound installations, concerts and much more...

Engine Company #4 built in 1879, also happens to be adjacent to St Anne’s Church. This is the same church that Fr. Gabrielle Richard first penned, Speramus meliora; resurget cineribus. We Hope For Better Things, It Shall Rise From The Ashes.  A Detroit motto as poignant today, as it was after the Great Fire of 1805. I cannot imagine presenting this performative installation, which speaks of the next generation of Detroit’s creative class, in a more significant place.

Social justice education is important. The Master’s Program in Social Justice flows from the mission of Marygrove College. The program is ideal for those interested in learning and promoting social justice/change. It provides for analysis and reflection in the ways of thinking, the values, assumptions, and the actions that maintain the economic, political, and cultural structures that shape our lives. It also seeks to build competencies and skills to transform these structures toward a more just society. In addition, this program seeks to create an internal culture of justice among the candidates.

At Marygrove, we are a lot of things.

Here you'll meet students and faculty from all walks of life, representing the people and ideas of the world. Some students are eighteen, others are 40. Some grew up just a few miles from the Marygrove campus, others from as far away as Asia and Africa.

In a word, we are diverse — women and men of all ages with various cultural‚ ethnic and political backgrounds. But what brings us together is one clear mission: As a forward-thinking, independent Catholic liberal arts college, we want you to become a competent, compassionate, and committed leader.

There’s something miraculous about Marygrove.

Step on the campus and you’ll feel it. It gets into you, makes you want to grow, makes you want to take charge of your life. We think it’s the legacy and spirit of our founders, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who have blazed trails and fought hard for what they believed in since 1845.
