The Michigan Energy Office promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy development to Michigan's residents, businesses and public institutions. Program activities are designed to encourage the use of new technologies and alternative fuels in buildings, industrial processes, vehicles and power generation. Program objectives are advanced through a variety of services, including information dissemination, technical and financial assistance and demonstration projects. The primary funding source for Michigan Energy Office activities is the U.S. Department of Energy.

The Neahtawanta Inn offers both solitude and interaction depending upon your needs. The Inn is used by individuals and groups for a variety of reasons: as a quiet respite from busy lives; for family reunions, small group retreats, honeymoons and anniversaries; or for vacationers coming to enjoy the Grand Traverse area. Surrounded by woods and water, the Inn offers peace and comfort for those who need to rest and rejuvenate. The large living/dining room with a sunken fieldstone firepit, and library with many books and periodicals are available for our guests. Healthy vegetarian breakfasts are served with many local ingredients. In 1996 a wheelchair accessible room was added, along with a second floor yoga studio.
