Regardless of age, level of education, sophistication, whether from the city, suburb or farm, people are amazed when they first walk into YouthVille Detroit. In a few short years, it has become a landmark of hope and pride for the city of Detroit, the region and the state. It is a destination point for youth needing an infusion of  belongingness and a safe and nurturing place to have fun, dream, learn, and participate.

Fueled by social awareness and environmentally conscious actions: we re-purpose salvaged materials from abandoned and burnt-out houses and factories to rebuild our gallery and homes, work with our community to maintain and expand the large amount of cultivated land, and are personally determined to bring a more attainable understanding of the arts through hands-on workshops and informative art shows.

Our central mission is to motivate youth to reach their highest potential. We have designed programs based on Mrs. Parks philosophy of "Quiet Strength" which engages youth in hands-on experiences to build practical day-to-day living skills. We promote multicultural participation in our program to provide youth with a cross-cultural exposure for nurturing a global and inclusive perspective.

The Mission of the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is to inspire people to discover the wonder of science, math and technology. Our Vision is to be the leader in imaginative and interactive learning experiences.
