Hampshire Farms is a small family farm in the Thumb of Michigan. It has been in the family since 1896. We have been Certified Organic since 1988. On our 240 acre farm, we grow a variety of crops which we sell at local farmers markets. Our main crops are grains and edible dry beans. We also grow 10-20 acres of vegetables, which are started in our greenhouse in early spring.
In the 1980's, we bought a 20-inch stone mill to grind flour from our organic grain. In 1991, we built a wood fired brick oven and started baking yeast-free, whole grain sourdough breads.
Amalie and Brandon raise chickens on pasture, and sell certified organic eggs.
