As a continuation of the above response, naturopathic doctors use a holistic approach to health and wellness. The term 'naturopathic' refers to the two latin root words 'nature' and 'pathos' which together mean 'nature of disease'. Naturopathic doctors explore and address the fundamental nature or cause of disease rather than merely treatment of symptoms expressed during illness.

    Naturpath Info

Naturopathic medicine involves treatment of the whole person using
natural substances and/or methods to enable the body to initiate a
healing response. A thorough history taking and physical exam aid in
determination of the underlying cause of illness.

Naturopathic physicians have a minimum of 7 years post secondary
education. Their education includes a minimum of 3 years pre-medical
training at a university followed by 4 years at an accredited
    naturopathic college or university.
